The question I am asking is this. How much does it take for me to see a Christian brother as my peer, on my level, eye-to-eye as my equal, such that my heart rejoices in that fellowship?
If my answer to that question is anything more than Christ alone, then I have lost sight of justification by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone apart from works, and I might even be using my allegiance to that very doctrine to undercut it, and I'm right back in Galatia.
It is a question of fellowship -- how I position myself emotionally and relationally with other Christians, including those (especially those) with whom I have legitimate differences of opinion.
Galatians 2:11-14 has been in the back of my mind for 30 years now, persistently asking me this question. Paul considered it a gospel question, nothing less.

Thanks, Dane.
