Crowder: Heaven Came Down (John 6:38-58)

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul
When at the cross my Savior made me whole
My sins were washed away and my night was turned to day
When heaven came down and glory filled my soul

O what a wonderful day
I will never forget
When I was wandering in darkness away
Jesus my Savior I met

O what a tender compassionate friend
He met the need of my heart
Shadows disspelling with joy I am telling
He made all the darkness depart

H-m-m..."doxological knowledge." (Where's my dictionary?)

I expect you're contrasting head and heart, the intellectual knowledge we have about God and a reveling in our relationship with Him. (Keep it simple for us theologically challenged folks.)

And you picked an excellent gospel song to illustrate your point. If you check my daily blog, Wordwise Hymns, today's is about John Peterson, and how that song came to be written. An old man's joyful testimony is behind it.
